After some amusing failures Cornbread has figured out the couch. I fully expect to be awoken mid-nap by the big boy trying to climb on top of me now.

I’m just waiting till he gets to the doggy daycare where we used to occasionally take Ruby.

They wrote us a nice little report card from her first visit. Hers talks about how sweet and gentle she is. His will probably say something about extreme friendliness with no concept of how big and strong he is.

We have gotten so lucky and our two have been a perfect fit for us. I give a ton of credit to the rescue organization we worked with. I just randomly met a couple at a pet store that had worked with them, and the head of the group was fantastic once I started visiting their actual events.

Cornbread and Ruby seem like amazing dogs. I'm so happy you have them. We have been thinking about getting another Whippet for Turkey to play with.

I used to volunteer occasionally at a Greyhound rescue when I lived in Pennsylvania, but its been about 7-8 years now. Wanted one ever since

I met a couple from a different rescue group about 4 years ago when we went to a fundraiser event for a local guide dog organization. I fell in love then and there, but we were renting at the time so it wasn’t an option.

In my case, I’ve got a shitty backyard fence, no dog door, too much carpeting, and I’m out of the house like 9-10 hours a day for work.
